People Present:17 Order of Business: 1. Kelly called the meeting to order and welcomed some new faces. There is nothing planned in the near future. He showed the new camera and memory card for the club. It is a 10 megapixel Nikon Coolpix. The camera has an extended warranty and damage protection. He mentioned the upcoming shows: Summer Cruise X in Charlotte, August 2 and The IPMS Nationals in Norfolk, August 6-9. There is also a show in Fayetteville, NC sometime in November. He also mentioned doing a special raffle before the October meeting. 2. The second Monday meeting in August will be in the ceramics room because the club meeting room will be occupied. Also, the recreation center is working on installing a light on the exterior of the building near the west entrance. 3. The military donations are on hold because of a loss of contact with the Diego Garcia base. Andy mentioned we may shift back to sending items to Iraq. Some discussion ensued on possibly donating kits to other military groups (ie, VA hospitals, disabled vets). 4. The next Most Popular Model (MPM) theme is any military vehicle other than a tank – trucks, halftracks, artillery, support equipment, etc. 5. Adam Baker did a demonstration on imbedding rivets on plastic. 6. Pizza at the next meeting! 7. The meeting concluded at 9:05.
